Harper Collins Publishers have published a book authored by Branco Weiss Fellow Hannah Mumby: Elephants – Birth, Life, and Death in the World of the Giants. Harper Collins writes about the book: “What Jane Goodall did for chimpanzees, international ecologist and conservation scientist Hannah Mumby now does for elephants in this compelling, eye-opening account that brings into focus this species remarkably similar to humans—and makes a persuasive argument for saving them.”

The book is based on over a decade of studying elephants in the field and includes several chapters on the elephants in South Africa Hannah has studied as part of her fellowship. It is available in the UK since April 2nd and will be made available in the US on May 12. A German translation, published by Hanser Munich, is slated for release in Spring next year.
