Lea Haller appointed Co-Head of the General Secretariat of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences

Branco Weiss alumna Lea Haller has been appointed Co-Head of the General Secretariat by the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW). She will take up this position together with the current Deputy Secretary General Beat Immenhauser on March 1, 2024. Most recently, Dr. Lea Haller was Editorial Director of the magazine “NZZ Geschichte”.
The SAGW is an organization for national Swiss research funding in accordance with federal law. With an annual budget of around CHF 18 million, it promotes research in the humanities and social sciences throughout Switzerland. For example, it subsidizes conferences and specialist journals in fields as diverse as history, political science, anthropology, criminology, literary studies, economics and archaeology. In addition, the SAGW mediates between researchers and people interested in science on the one hand and political decision-makers, authorities and the wider public on the other. The SAGW also advocates free access to scientific publications and research data (Open Science).
