Slavich Wins Early Career Research Award

Society in Science fellow George Slavich has been awarded the 2012 Early Career Research Award from the Western Psychological Association, the largest regional psychological association in the United States. The award recognizes outstanding scientific contributions by an early career scientist who received his or her PhD in the past 10 years. Dr. Slavich received the prestigious award for his research on the neurobiology of social rejection, inflammation, and depression. Slavich is an assistant professor of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA and a Research Scientist at the Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology, where he directs the UCLA Laboratory for Stress Assessment and Research.
