Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, has appointed Branco Weiss Fellow Renana Gershoni-Poranne Assistant Professor of Computational Chemistry at the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry. She has taken up her new position on October 1 and has also been named a Career Advancement Fellow by the Technion.
The Schulich Faculty of Chemistry is Renana Gershoni-Poranne’s alma mater, where she previously earned her BSc in Molecular Biochemistry (summa cum laude), MSc in Organic Chemistry (summa cum laude), and PhD in Computational Physical Organic Chemistry. In 2015, she began her postdoctoral research with Prof. Peter Chen at ETH Zurich, where she subsequently led an independent group and lectured as a Senior Scientist since 2017. Her research focuses on using computational tools to design new polycyclic aromatic frameworks for use within organic electronics, through a deeper understanding of the underlying relationships between structure and properties.
