Moritz Kraemer receives Google Faculty Research Award

Branco Weiss Fellow Moritz Kraemer has been chosen by Google to receive one of its Faculty Research Awards 2018. Dr. Kraemer was awarded for his project of better understand the spread of emerging infections using new technologies, mobile applications, and artificial intelligence.

The Google Faculty Research Awards program is focused on funding world-class technical research in computer science and related topics, such as quantum computing, machine learning, algorithms and theory, natural language processing and more. The program is structured as seed funding to support one graduate student for one year and are awarded as an unrestricted gift. Additionally, recipients are provided the opportunity to work directly with Google researchers and engineers.
