Max Planck Society appoints Benard Nsamba Head of Partner Group in Uganda

The German Max Planck Society has appointed Branco Weiss Fellow Benard Nsamba Head of the Partner Group of the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics (MPA) at the Kyambogo University in Uganda. The society and especially the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics will support Dr. Nsamba in developing the Max Planck Partner Group into an active research group of the African and international scientific communities.

The group will be funded with 20,000 Euros every year for a period of five years. These funds will be used to hire a few master students and PhD students. The collaboration with MPA will boast Astrophysics research in Uganda and particularly at Kyambogo University. Students in the group will have a chance to spend some time at MPA and have access to the state-of-the-art computational resources and research environment.
