27.05.2021 15:08

Earlier this year, Branco Weiss Fellow Christian Haffner has taken up a new tenure track position at the imec in Leuven, Belgium. It is the first tenure track the institute offers since its foundation in 1984 under its full name Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre. At imec Haffner will build a research team to explore the limits of electro-optics by pushing the boundaries of quantum photonics to enable highly energy-efficient computing.

Before moving to Belgium, Haffner was working at the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) in the USA and at ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
