10.12.2021 02:42

Branco Weiss Fellow Renana Gershoni-Poranne has been awarded with a Golden Owl, a prize that is given by ETH Zurich’s students association VSETH to lecturers who have provided exceptional teaching. “Teaching takes a lot of time, but it is one of the things that gives me a lot of energy too”, Gershoni-Poranne says in an interview published on the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences’s (D CHAB) website. “It makes me really happy to interact with the students and it is so much fun to see how the connections are being made in their brains. It’s a privilege to be part of that process.”

All ETH members with a teaching assignment can be nominated for the Golden Owl. One lecturer per department is selected for this honour. The Golden Owl was first awarded in 2005 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the ETH Zurich. Since then, VSETH confers the prize yearly on ETH Day.
