Swedish foundation names Daniel Bojar a Future Research Leader

Branco Weiss Fellow Daniel Bojar has been appointed a Future Research Leader by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF). Dr. Bojar’s application for the Future Research Leader (FFL-9) program with the title “AI-driven Glycobiology in Health and Disease“ was among 16 selected out of 213 applications in total. He will receive a grant of SEK 15 million (approx. 1.5 million USD) over a five-year period and will participate in a comprehensive leadership training program during the program.

The FFL-9 program is aimed at young Swedish or foreign researchers with the highest scientific and pedagogical competence who also demonstrate leadership potential. The researchers should have the ambition to implement research results in society, also outside of academia, and should later in their careers be able to assume responsibility for a constellation that is significantly larger than their own research group.
