Branco Weiss Lecture 2024
Making Memory
The idea that memory is preserved through lasting changes in the brain, capable of influencing present and future decision-making, can be traced back to Plato and Aristotle. However, memory extends beyond just “psycho-logical” memory.
In this lecture, Branco Weiss Fellows Julia Merkenschlager, Sito Torres-Garcia, and Robert Baines together with Branco Weiss Alumna Anna-Sophia Wahl explored where memory lives in their respective research fields by exploring how it is formed, stored, recalled and lost. They also addressed physiological, cellular, genetic and AI forms of memory.
This Branco Weiss Lecture took place on Monday, November 4, 2024 at ETH Zurich
