Simone Schürle appointed Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich

10.08.2017 17:23

ETH Zurich has appointed Branco Weiss fellow Simone Schürle Assistant Professor of Responsive Biomedical Systems. Dr. Schürle has taken up her new position at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) at the beginning of August. Her aim is to develop systems at the nano- and microscale for minimal invasive diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Such systems may help to convey active substances precisely to diseased parts of the body or to detect diseases earlier.

Simone Schürle is not new to ETH: Between 2009 and 2014, she already worked as a doctoral student at the Multi Scale Robotics Laboratory at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering. There she was involved in the development and control of nano- and micro-robots.
