Lara Keuck appointed Professor at Bielefeld University

Last September, Bielefeld University has appointed Branco Weiss Alumna Lara Keuck Professor of History and Philosophy of Medicine. Her position is co-affiliated to the departments of philosophy and history, as well as to the faculty of medicine. Additionally, Lara Keuck is contributing to the university’s Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of Science (I2SoS). In parallel to her professorship at Bielefeld University, she will continue her position as leader of the research group on “Practices of Validation in the Biomedical Sciences” at the Max Planck Society in Berlin.
Lara Keuck was a Branco Weiss Fellow from 2015 to 2021. At the heart of her research project at the intersection of history and the philosophy of biomedicine and psychiatry were the evaluation of the model role of Alzheimer’s disease, its long history and many re-phrasings.
