Harini Nagendra receives an honorary doctorate from Utrecht University

Utrecht University has decided to award Branco Weiss Alumna Harini Nagendra an honorary doctorate in recognition for her scientific and social contribution to a healthier planet. Prof. Nagendra will be awarded for her original research on how people and nature can reconnect in cities to foster sustainability, resilience, and livability. “Through her engagement with urban communities and her commitment to empowering youth in and through sustainability education, she creates meaningful, real-world impact that enriches both academia and society,” the university’s news page quotes one of Prof. Nagendra’s honorary promotors, Prof. Catrin Finkenauer.

The award will be presented at the Dom church during the 389^th Dies Natalis, Utrecht University’s birthday. The ceremony can be watched live via the livestream on March 26 at 16:00 (4:00 pm) CET.
