MIT Technology Review has listed recently elected Branco Weiss fellow Fabian Menges as one of 35 “Innovators under 35”. The annual list, established in 1999, recognizes outstanding innovators who are younger than 35 and whose superb technical work promises to shape the coming decades. The goal is to recognize the development of new technology or the creative application of existing technologies to solve problems. Dr. Menges is listed under the category “Pioneers”, described as individuals bringing fresh and unexpected solutions to their areas.

Dr. Fabian Menges is a post-doctoral researcher in the materials integration & nanoscale devices group at IBM Research in Zurich. Menges’ research focuses on the experimental characterization of thermal energy transfer and conversion processes in electronic devices. As a Branco Weiss fellow, he will continue his research at the University of Colorado in collaboration with IBM.

MIT Technology Review showcases the global winners in its September/October issue and online. The winners will also be recognized at the Emtech MIT conference in October.
