Cheemeng Tan appointed Full Professor at UC Davis

The University of California, Davis has appointed Branco Weiss Alumnus Cheemeng Tan Full Professor, effective July 1, 2025. Prof. Tan was a Branco Weiss Fellow from 2012 to 2017. He joined UC Davis as an Assistant Professor in 2013 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2019.

Prof. Tan leads the Artificial Cellular Systems Lab, or “Tan Lab”, at the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The lab aims to create artificial cellular systems for broad biotechnological applications using a holistic approach, integrating synthetic and systems biology.
