Carolin Schurr appointed as Associate Professor at the University of Bern
The University of Bern, Switzerland, has appointed Branco Weiss Fellow Carolin Schurr as Associate Professor of Cultural and Social Geography. Dr. Schurr will take up her position on August 1 this year. As part of her appointment, she will become co-director of the university’s Geography Department.
Dr. Carolin Schurr’s research centers on how the development of new reproductive technologies has created transnational baby markets. In her ethnographic study of the fertility market in Mexico, she investigates the economic, political, and social challenges of this emerging market.
