14.02.2025 14:25

Branco Weiss Fellow Can Aztekin has been appointed as a Max Planck Research Group Leader at the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory (FML) of the Max Planck Society in Tübingen in Germany. This position is a W2 professorship. W2 professorships at German universities are aimed at experienced scientists and are comparable to associate professorships in the Anglo-American university system. Dr. Can Aztekin started his new position on February 1. His laboratory will investigate limb regeneration and the evolution of regenerative processes across species.

The FML, established by the Max Planck Society in 1969, offers outstanding young scientists the opportunity to build up a research group over a period of several years, to pursue their own research ideas and to start an independent career. The FML is part of the Max Planck Campus in Tübingen with close ties to the neighboring Max Planck Institute for Biology Tübingen and the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics.
