A fortuitous meetup of Branco Weiss Fellows and Alumni in Berlin

22.11.2019 15:20

Branco Weiss Fellows Xavier Dumusque, Igor Pikovski, Simone Schürle and Tevong You have represented ETH Zurich at this year’s Berlin Science Week – a 10-day international festival between November 1 and 10 bringing together people from the world’s most innovative scientific institutions.

The four fellows were involved in ETH’s presentations at the Berlin Science Week Campus at Museum für Naturkunde, covering a scientific spectrum from how science and art mutually inspire to how man and machine interact; and from frontiers that challenge our understanding of nature to antibiotic resistance.

A pleasant surprise was the appearance of Branco Weiss Alumna Suzanne Devkota who attended Berlin Science Week at behalf of the Nobel Prize Foundation. “In sheer fortunate luck, I noticed Simone’s name on the Berlin Science Week agenda, and then she happened to find Igor, Tevong, and Xavier”, Suzanne Devkota recounts. “It was quite a fortuitous meetup – and a great pleasure.”
