Branco Weiss Donates Society in Science to ETH

On January 1 2011 Branco Weiss will donate Society in Science to ETH – together with a 20 million Swiss francs endowment to warrant the fellowship’s operations for the next ten years.

Society in Science was conceived by Dr. Branco Weiss as a fellowship program for young researchers that would be unique throughout the globe. He has now decided to transfer the responsibility for this program entirely to ETH to establish a solid institutional base for the future. ETH will be able to support exceptional young researchers throughout the world and both sides will benefit from intensive exchange.
